HubPages had reported some changes and the other Search Engine Land advised that the great Google had confirmed there had indeed been an update. Telling them there “were changes to its core ranking algorithm in terms of how it processes quality signals.
I’ve noticed a little bit of movement up the way on two of our sites but kinda hard to tell if much impact.
I did see a big drop on one games site that I help run that fits this timeline but it also fits with an issue with Cloudflare’s Rocket Loader, it was causing a pounder to fire on every single click. I’m not a fan of the popunder but they are pretty standard on casual games sites.
However, Rocket Loader interfered with the script…actually I will post a little on another day as Rocket Loader also causes script errors in Firefox and IE on Windows under certain WordPress setups.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see if anyone can shed more light on the changes to quality signals that Google mentions.
